Ed McBain (1926-2005) was a prolific writer whose work varied from hard bitten police procedural to screenwriting, to children's books. McBain also worked under several different pen names, the most commonly known being Evan Hunter. McBain's most famous works would be his 87th precinct series set in New York City.
