Ginny Stibolt, a life-long gardener with MS degree in Botany from the University of Maryland, moved to north east Florida in 2004. All of her previous experience and education did not help one bit when she tried her hand at Florida gardening. So she opened her botany texts, bought some Florida-based books, joined the Florida Native Plant Society, and began to research Florida gardening. Knowing she couldn’t be the only transplanted gardener in the area, she started writing her popular Adventures of a Transplanted Gardener columns and posted them on her website www.transplantedgardener.com, and many of her columns have been republished by other organizations such as Jacksonville's Times Union and master gardener newsletters. She also wrote all the gardening articles for Vero Beach Magazine for four years. Her book, "Sustainable Gardening for Florida" was published by University Press of Florida in 2009: and was nominated for book of the year by the American Horticultural Society.
