Gonzalo Barr is a native Floridian. He was born in Miami. Barr was influenced by reading Camus and Vonnegut. Two of Barr's short stories were published in his high school literary magazine. In 2005, Barr won the Bakeless Prize for Fiction, awarded by Bread Loaf and Middlebury College, for The Last Flight of José Luis, a collection of short stories. Barr is currently working on a novel.
