Lee Irby (1963 - ) found his inspiration for writing in an article about Babe Ruth and his gambling debt. Irby considered what life was like in the 1920's and through that created his character, Frank Hearn, a 1920's bootlegger who eludes crooked cops and mobsters with the help of his beautiful sidekicks. Irby currently teaches at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida.
