Lynne Barrett has a B.A. from Mount Holyoke and an M.F.A. from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. Barrett teaches creative writing at Florida International University in North Miami. She was the founding editor of Gulf Stream Magazine. Barrett is currently the founder and editor of the Florida Book Review website. Barrett won the Edgar Allan Poe Award from the Mystery Writers of America in 1991 for her short story Elvis Lives. Her short story Beauty won the Best Short Story Award at the Moondance Film Festival in 2001. Her short fiction Noir Boudoir was published in the anthology Miami Noir edited by Les Standiford.
