Randy Wayne White (1950-) writes crime fiction and adventure nonfiction. He is best known for his series of crime novels featuring the retired NSA agent Marion "Doc" Ford, a marine biologist living on Sanibel Island on the Gulf Coast of southern Florida. His national PBS documentary THE GIFT OF THE GAME, about taking baseball gear to kids in Cuba, which he wrote and narrated, won the 2002 Woods Hole Film festival Best of best Award. White is involved with the restaurant Doc Ford's Sanibel Rum Bar & Grill on Sanibel Island.
